Playschool Fundraising

Hamble Village Playschool is a charitable organisation, and as such we are always looking for ways to raise money. Every penny we raise goes towards new resources, games, equipment … basically … towards more FUN for the children! Most recently, precious funds have been used to bring the outdoor classroom area back into action, electronic tablets for the children to use and much more.

We did not hold a Summer Fayre in 2019 as we intended to put on a special event on Saturday 20 June 2020 to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 this had to be cancelled. We are now looking to celebrate our 21st anniversary in 2021!! Further details to follow...

Other recent events include:

Film Night and Disco 2019: Children enjoyed watching Merry Madagascar, followed by hot dogs, popcorn, and a disco.

Christmas Craft Fayre 2019: Selection of outside stall holders, along with free craft tables for the children, teddy tombola, face painting and the opportunity to have your photograph taken with Father Christmas and his elves!

Previous events include:

£255.50 raised from our popular annual tea towel efforts.
A Teddy Bear Raffle that raised a cuddly £33.
An Easter Smartie Challenge that invited people to see how many 20p's they could fit into a Smartie tube - a yummy challenge that raised £133 in the process.

Cllr Keith House kindly provided a full grant for the pre-school to do a much-needed makeover of the carpark area of our outside space with vibrant floor paintings, including a road system for the children to follow on their trikes, a learning ladder and several other fun and educational graphics.

As you can see, a wonderful new decking area has been built and the pirate ship renovated and bark laid throughout. A variety of gardening facilities have been installed, a toy kitchen plus other toys are now being used by the children. And the large undercover area enables it to be used (almost!) whatever the weather! A huge thank you to Julie, the staff and the committee for their time. Also, a big shout out to Osmotech who supplied the paint for the pirate ship.
