Dear Parents
Welcome back to the Spring Term.
Firstly, a belated thank you for all your kind gifts and lovely cards. I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Christmas Performance:
This year we decided to try something different by inviting parents/carers and siblings to the whole party. The feedback has been extremely positive. I would like to congratulate all the children for their superb singing. With the raffle we raised £61.00 to go in the fundraising pot. Thank you to the parents who donated a raffle prize.
New Staff Member:
We also said a sad goodbye to Jane who has moved on to pastures new. Our new staff member is Vicci Reynolds. Vicci lives in the village and both her children went through playschool. During this time Vicci chaired our fundraising committee and also helped in the setting as a parent volunteer, especially during last summer.
Julie H and Vicci have both enrolled at college to study for their Level 3 qualfication, which they should complete in December.
Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENCo):
Deb has taken on this additional role from Jane. Deb has a sound knowledge of this area having being Senco prior to Jane. Should you have any concerns about your child, please see your child’s key person in the first instance.
Committee Meeting:
The next committee meeting is on Wednesday 13 February 2013, 7.30pm, to be held in the upstairs committee room at the front of the memorial hall. In attending the committee meeting you have the opportunity to learn what is and what will be happening at playschool.
Planning:
This half term we will are looking at our community/village, exploring numbers and shapes.
Parent Rota:
The parent rota sheet is up on the notice board. Please write your name against the session you would like to stay and play (please ensure that your child has settled at playschool first). The children really enjoy showing their parents/carers around.
Amazing Achievement Slips:
Amazing Achievement slips enable you to share with us anything your child does outside of playschool such as, ride a bike without stabilizers, sporting achievement, family outing, being kind, holidays, sharing; the list is endless. The children are very proud when we talk about their achievement to the rest of the group. If you require any more slips help yourself to the ones on the red table by the book corner.
Library:
We are still running our library. All library books can be found in the wicker basket by the book corner. If your child wishes to take a book, please sign it in and out.
Food Tasting:
We will be food tasting over the next couple of weeks to coincide with Chinese New Year and Shrove Tuesday. Your child’s key person will see you to obtain your permission.
Naming Items:
Please ensure that lunch boxes, drink bottles, rucksacks are all clearly named on the outside so they can be easily identified.
